Feb 4, 2016, 16:54 PM
Lifestyle expert and colour expert extraordinaire Amanda Forrest is set to warm up (or cool down) the BC Home + Garden Show, depending on her colour palette of choice. Catch Amanda on the BC Hydro Main Stage on Saturday, February 20 at 4PM as she offers up tips on how to add colour to your home for maximum impact.

We asked Amanda just how to inject PANTONE’s colours of the year, rose quartz, a warmer rose tone and serenity, a cool, tranquil blue, into your decor.

1. Start with your walls. Serenity is a beautiful option to create a calm and rejuvenating colour palette in a living room. This tone is best paired with creams and textural fabrics.

2. Add geometrics. Rose quartz pairs wonderfully with soft greys and serves as a perfect partner to strong geometric and graphic statement patterns. Try it in a powder room alongside a black faucet and modern black and white art.

3. Anchor your floors. Incorporating both colours together in one room is easily done with an area rug that bridges both shades. From there, keep the walls a neutral cream, add some brass lamps, accent pillows in the same tone and modern art.
